Rites of Passage

How is it possible?

How can it be, that my kids are 6 and 8, and have never done this before in their lives??

They thought they were opening little presents!

Mama, you can ask me to do this job anytime!

Corn has HAIR!

Shortly after this picture was taken, I realized exactly why they'd never shucked corn before.

Or why I never let them into the kitchen.

I'm still picking 'hair' up off the floor, and I've vacuumed three times.

  1. As a child my mother made dolls from small ears of corn with the silk serving as hair.

    Enjoyed the pictures.

  3. I just read your last few posts, the kids looked like they had fun shucking the corn. I think you are quite right - trying to explain mammography to your kids would be entertaining for us, but might lead to alot of blushing on your part. By the way I love the colored eggs, how did they taste?

  4. Miles loves doing that to the corn too. He even helps pick them when we have them ready in the garden...
